Actual length= $30cm$
Error= $31.7cm-30cm=1.7cm$
Percentage Error= $\frac{Error}{Actual length}\times \frac{100}{1}$
$\Rightarrow % Error =0.056666667\times 100$
$\Rightarrow % Error =5.666666667cm$
$\Rightarrow % Error =5.7cm$
