    The number of gallons of water in a 125-gallon 20% water content solution is given by \dfrac{20\%}{100\%}\times125=25 gallons.

    Let the number of gallons of water needed to be added to raise the water content to 25% be g, then \dfrac{25\%}{100\%}\times(125+g)=25+g\Rightarrow\dfrac{125+g}{4}=25+g

    \Rightarrow125+g=4(25+g)=100+4g\Rightarrow4g-g=125-100\Rightarrow3g=25\Rightarrow g=\dfrac{25}{3}=8\dfrac{1}{3}.

    Therefore, 8\dfrac{1}{3} gallons of water needs to be added.
