$13\times (8+3)$ in $mod 12$
$\Rightarrow 8+3=11$
$\Rightarrow 13\times 11=143$ in $mod 12$
next look for the number that will multiple 12 to give 143 or a number close to 143 but not more than 143
$\Rightarrow 12 \times 11=132$
What must be added to 132 to make it 143 is 11
$\therefore 13\times (8+3)\equiv 11$ in $mod 12$
