$5\times 7+13$ in $mod 12$
$\Rightarrow 5\times 7=35$
$\Rightarrow 35+13=48$ in $mod 12$
next look for the numner that will multiple 12 to give 48 or a number close to 48 but not more than 48
$\Rightarrow 48=12 \times 4$
Since 12 can be removed from 48 four times without remainder
$\therefore 5\times 7+13=48\equiv 0$ in $mod 12$
